CAD - Introduction

CAD stands for "computer-aided design ', which refers to the design process of any real object or virtual using software tools and utilities. Allows a designer to create drafts and designs precise measurements of objects according to predefined with a high degree of accuracy, and minimal work. The technology is strongly focused on the principles of mathematics and engineering, and allows the creation two-and three-dimensional models. As such, the technology finds wide application in various industries, including aerospace, shipbuilding, automotive, and architecture. Today technology, CAD is used to create animation and special effects for films, computer games, and also in industry advertising.

CAD: What is done

To create any type of CAD design, the designer needs know the dimensions required in the final design. The instructions may be as hard or soft copies. If the client has specific requirements, which can even send in the design of the project in electronic or printed form for the designer. Most CAD software tools to seamlessly work with scanned copies of printed material, making it easier for designers to use the draft framework provided by customers.

Once the designer has a clear understanding of customer requirements, you can get to work, creating the design in accordance with the measurements. If the client has provided a copy of the product required, then the designer can simply scan and use the digital version to create the design. Once the work is complete, the designer can send a copy of the design to the client as an email attachment, for approval. This option also allows sharing of designs created with multiple recipients in a trouble-free. Thus, the customer can have a look at the design created and give feedback to the designer in minutes.

If the client feels that some modifications to be made, then the designer can easily implement CAD tools. This is one of the main reasons for the popularity of CAD software over other traditional methods, the design of pen and paper, this makes the process of modifying designs a snap. The designer can simply change the point that the client has to be changed, without having to redo the entire design from scratch.

CAD software: Tools of the Trade

Different software companies have been developing software CAD since 1980 of the times. Today, there are CAD tools and services available for almost any type of design and modeling tasks. Whether a professional designer need to design a two-dimensional banner ad campaign or a fully three-dimensional map for a PC game, there is some kind of tool available to do that. Latest generation of CAD tools have also found use in fashion and jewelry design, layout, interior decoration and even in creating digital artwork.

Many companies developing software tools for CAD, but some well known names in the industry are Autodesk (makers of the famous AutoCAD and Autodesk Maya), Bentley Systems, Ashampoo, Dassault Syst
