Faculty of Arts and Sciences
The College of Arts and Sciences is the foundation of the curriculum of the University Niagara and serves as the basis for designation as a liberal arts college. All Niagara students complete a part of their courses at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences as many general education courses are within this unit.
Most academic departments and faculty Niagara are within the Arts and Sciences, including: Biochemistry / Chemistry, Biology / Life Sciences, Communications, Computers, Criminal Justice, English, History, Studies International, Humanities, Mathematics, Modern Languages, Nursing, Political Science, Philosophy, Psychology, Religious Studies, Sociology, Social Sciences, Social Work, and Theatre Studies.
The College of Arts and Sciences also offers master's degrees in both Management and Criminal Justice Studies Interdisciplinary.
On October 8, 2008, Niagara University, announced a gift of $ 10 million, the largest gift in the history of the university, had been made in the College of Arts and Sciences for B. Thomas Golisano, Paychex's chief executive and the owner of the Buffalo Sabres. The gift will fund a building new science, known as the B. Thomas Golisano Center for Science. The project is scheduled for 2011.
Business School
With programs in Accounting, Business Administration and Commerce, the College of Business continues to improve his academic position at the local, regional and national levels. Each year, students in return processing College of Business at the fiscal behavior as a community service for area residents.
On January 23, 2006, the University announced a donation $ 5 million from the College of Business student Gerald Bisgrove, Class of 1968. Faculty of Education
Niagara is committed to longtime teacher training for K-12. Basic education students in the Faculty of Education and choose a concentration within the College of Arts and Sciences. Student teaching takes place in schools in the area, many of which are located in rural or urban districts with low incomes.
Faculty Management of Hospitality and Tourism
The College of Hospitality and Tourism Management, Niagara's newest, is a branch of tourism programs earlier in college. The College includes course offerings in tourism, hotel, restaurant, recreation and sports management. Many students supplement their experience in the classroom with practice in local hotels and luxury hotels around the world. In addition, the College has a popular study abroad program in Lake Como Italy.
The College of Hospitality and Tourism ranks sixth in the nation among hospitality programs. In recent years, graduates have almost 100% rate job placement. Teachers come from all over the world and most have the terminal degree in their field. The College is located on the upper floors of the Board of newborn Renovated San Vicente, which has a modern atrium and spectacular views of the Gorge of Niagara River and Canada. However, the beauty of the room should not be objective school.
The College is also a founding member of The Leading Hotel Schools of the World, a partnership between 9 hotel schools around the world with The Leading Hotels of the World. This partnership allows students to Niagara privilege of placing a pipeline of five star hotels, 450 worldwide.
School Nursing and the Department of Nursing (New)
The College of Nursing, long an institution Falls, graduated its last class in 2003. Although nursing students opposed the government's decision to close the college, many are still active members of the alumni community and the University of Falls Board of Nursing Alumni (NUNAC).
In response to the chronic shortage of nurses, Niagara University has recently created a new department of nursing at the College of Arts and Sciences to offer a bachelor's completion program in Science nurses with associate degrees.
The new cohort of nursing program began in 2006 and offers a degree of flexibility to the end format for the nurse working that builds on the foundation cattle on their associates and diploma programs. The program also works closely with the alumni community nursing.
Graduate Education
Niagara has a graduate education program expansion. Currently, masters are offered in Business Administration, Criminal Justice Administration, Interdisciplinary Studies and Education.
Continuing and Community Education
In the past five years, the renewed emphasis on enrichment Falls community and regional development has substantially increased its offer continuing education. Currently, more than 1,000 students enroll each year for online courses and certificate programs. Student Life
ROTC
Corps Reserve Officer Training Army has awarded a unit in the Falls. ROTC students participate in regular classes in college and careers, and military science instruction throughout their college careers. Every Thursday, the cadets participate in military exercises and laboratory, by tradition, take their Army Combat Uniform (ACU) classes for the rest of the day (totally optional). On Monday, Wednesday and Thursday morning, up early ROTC students to participate in exercises physical training.
Community Service
Niagara University Community Action Program (NUCAP) and Learn and Serve Niagara office is located lead to the popularity of the program of the university community service. All Niagara students are encouraged to return to their community, participating in numerous NUCAP and opportunities offered by information and serve for the entire academic year. Many of the courses in the Falls are a service learning component as part of the curriculum class. Niagara generations of students have served as volunteers for the area nursing homes, hospitals and schools, the American Red Cross, the Association American Heart Association, and the Upper Mountain Volunteer Fire Company, among others.
Residence Life
Niagara University has 5 traditional residences as well of 6 houses of the village community called Varsity, and on-campus student apartments. Traditional buildings include Seton, Ohea, Oonoughue, and Chambers Lynch Clet.
Lynch Hall (mixed per floor), a five-story building with a straight hallway on each floor rooms and facilities capable of common areas. The rooms are mostly single occupancy with a limited number of non-singles. The Lynch additional basement area is a large lounge and games room.
Oonoughue Hall (mixed floor by floor with a student), a four-story building with a straight hallway on each floor with rooms and facilities capacity of the common areas. The rooms are mostly single rooms with some doubles.
Clet Hall (mixed per floor), a four-story building straight corridors forming three wings in shape. facilities common area at the ends of the wings. The rooms are in vogue for single, double and triple. Location of Commons and Dining Theater.
University People (male / female), consists of six detached houses (three for male students and three students), two plants each. common facilities in the area found in every home and the rooms are for single, double and triple. Most of the spaces in "the people" are generally chosen by students last.
O'Shea Hall (mixed per floor), a high-rise building with seven stories set in a rectangular space with common facilities in the center of each plant. The rooms are hot for two people. International location of some athletes and some houses and the Housing Office.
Seton Hall (mixed per floor), a high-rise building with seven stories set in a rectangular shape with common area facilities at the center of each plant. The rooms are all the rage double and triple occupancy. Location of some homes athlete.
Apartments (building mixed / single sex apartments), consists of six separate buildings of two plants each with eight apartments for 4 people. Each apartment is fully furnished and contains all the comforts of an apartment off campus. Every single room contains a vanity mirror, sink and cabinets. The apartments are available for youth, seniors and graduate students.
Campus Activities
The Campus Activities Office, along with the Niagara University Student Government Association, sponsors numerous opportunities for involvement in campus life, including Greek life. Currently, Delta Epsilon Chi, a local fraternity, and Tau Kappa Epsilon, an international fraternity, fraternities are only active in campus Falls. The first edition of the tribute was published on January 1, 1870, as is the third oldest college newspaper, published sporadically in the United States. Athletics
Niagara University Athletics Department sponsors 18 Division I sports. The Purple Eagles compete in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) in all sports except hockey on ice. Both men's and women's teams compete in College Hockey America, however, the men's team move to Atlantic Hockey in 2010. The athletic director is Ed McLaughlin.
Falls sports teams have done well in the 21 st century. The men's basketball team won the MAAC Championship in 2005 and 2007, earning automatic bids to the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship, known colloquially as the "Big Dance." Niagara first appearance at the ball was in 1970, when All-American Calvin Murphy led the Purple Eagles to the Sweet Sixteen. On March 13, 2007, Niagara defeated Florida A & M 77-69 in the call "Play-In Game."

The men's team won the College Hockey America Hockey Championship in 2000, 2004 and 2008, contained in the NCAA Championship Men's Ice Hockey year. In 2000, the "Purps" upset the University of New Hampshire to advance to the Elite Eight. Two years later, women's hockey team stunned the hockey world by advancing to college frozen four, eventually linking the University of Minnesota in the match for third place.
Three other teams have advanced the Falls for the NCAA Tournament in their respective sports: softball (1998), women's soccer (2006), and women's tennis (2003 and 2005).

The Department Athletics facilitynd also operates the Kiernan Centeriagara fitness on campus sponsors a complete list of intramural sports, including basketball, broomball, soccer American football, softball, hockey and rugby.
Controversy
While Falls has been successful in athletics, which has also had its share of disputes.
In 2006, six members of the basketball team of the men were arrested in connection with an assault on a male athlete of Niagara.
Also in 2006, the women's lacrosse Niagara were involved in a hazing incident in which new members of the team participated in the consumption of alcohol.
