Where do the leather jackets?
A leather jacket is a garment made of animal skins. Leather jackets are made primarily cowhide left over from the meat packing industry, although some skin is made of other animals such as goats, calves, sheep and lamb skins. Leather jackets are generally brown, gray or black that is the most popular color. They come in many styles for men, women and children, such as solid leather jacket, jacket, coat and motorcycle jacket.
Before the jacket can cause the skin of the animal has to go through a process known as tanning. This process preserves its physical properties, such as strength, flexibility and endurance. It also makes it resistant to bacterial decomposition or decay when wet. There are two known ways to tan or chromium such as minerals and plants.
The first step is the healing of the skin by salting or drying immediately after it is removed. The method most commonly used is cured with salt, this method hides are placed in large vats called channels with disinfectant and brine solution. After a sixteen hours the skin is completely penetrated by the salt and then removed.
Then the cured skins are soaked in water for two to seven days to remove salt, dirt, blood and also to replace moisture. Once removed from the water of the flesh is removed mechanically from the inside surface, skins are soaked in a solution of lime, water and sodium sulfide from one to nine days to loosen the hair. The hair can be easily removed by a machine. After this is made from skins are soaked in a dilute solution of acid to reduce the swelling caused by lime. At the same time the skin is treated with a given composite of enzymes that are soft and flexible.
Now begins the tanning process is known as chrome tanning which allows greater elasticity than vegetable tanned by the use of the salt compound of chromium. The skins are kept in a solution of acid and salt to prepare for chrome tanning and then immersed in a solution of chromium sulphate in a rotating drum skin falling.
Leathers finished covering the surface with a finishing compound and brush in a rotating brush cover cylinder. The grain surface is polished or sanded to correct imperfections. Polishing up the nap that produces leather known as suede. Smooth leather is seasoned with waxes, dyes and pigments used sparingly to avoid looking painted. After dying the leather is dried in a stretched condition in perforated metal frames and transported through tunnel heat and humidity.
