2010 was gothic, glam and very Victorian but you do not know to look at the bags. They lacked some of the personality and style of the clothes they were designed, but they were kind of interesting right own. Any way you slice it, however, knitting and macramé say no glam, gothic or Victorian.
The highlights for me were the changes in the way successful case Miss Sicily and anything with red leopard print (I know, I know, my "power setting" is not as impressive at times). Dim lights? In knitting, weaving and knitting more. As clear vinyl bags that Prada showed earlier this week, I can not imagine that these will have a large audience among fans of the bag, but maybe I'm wrong. Would you pay four figures for them?
I'm overwhelmed, and I do not like being overwhelmed. I'm not a big fan of Prada s Fall 2009 offerings, and I am even less of a fan of Prada spring 2010. So much so that kind of makes your head hurt.
Memo to the fashion industry: nobody wants transparent vinyl bags. Nobody. You tried this shit a few seasons and I thought it would be nice, and all finished on the grill on sale at the end of the season, and did not move particularly fast even after meeting. A clear, plastic clutch drive architecture designed to accommodate three things for a night at the Fendi s' spring 2010 presentation? That's clear it right.
However, a gray-tinted transparent vinyl bag of the intention to keep the crap of daily life, such as buffers and ATM receipts? No, thanks. I will not. Ever. But, with some jewels glued to the top and a canvas bag or two thrown in for good measure, is basically what we have. From Prada makes a collection so large for the bag every season, this is probably just the tip of the iceberg and several other lines do not go on mini surface of the track time, but if this is an indication of things to come, I'll have a pass.
