The military trend persists, but this season has become more tailored and 'British', instead of gothic and dark. military jackets have a strong, almost masculine look that contrasts nicely with floaty and pieces to match the feminine. Soon staple wardrobe of any fashionista.
Exotic elements
Animal prints, tribal prints, feathers and skins of all staples were important to the designers of this winter. They took the forms of accessories hair, gloves, scarves, bags, shoes and, of course, clothes. I love the thrill of the patterns, the "global" feel and uniqueness of an element exotic brings to one's clothing.
Blazers
The 2007 trend boyfriend blazer is back with a vengeance, but with more femininity. The cut is more streamlined, as the lengths are shorter. The Blazers have become bolder in moving away from black to gray and brighter colors, textures and patterns. Those who were taken off jackets, eat your words!
Trimmings
Extravagant embellishments like lace, brocade, sequins, velvet and others were rampant on the runways for the winter. These little luxuries made darker colors and designs spark muted. Velvet ribbons, sequins, glitter, lace detailing were seen in the blouses, pants, shoes, handbags, scarves, hoods, jackets and more.
