Team! Photographers Love It
The photographers who love and of course I need, at least most of the time. It seems that every time I photographers any new, or interested physicians, lawyers or businessmen, for that matter, there is always one inevitable question: what do you shoot with? So what I can shoot? What should I wear glasses? Is it just shoot available light, or should I use flash? The answer: yes.
Just kidding. So for those who are curious, I will break my typical setup for a wedding, and why I own every piece. There is some art, but do not worry, we will out of this, even if it takes more than a blog. I've spent years developing my photography equipment, and keep adding to the rest of my life (not only what tell my wife!), and you can too! So let's get to it.
First are the camera bodies. Shot all digital SLR cameras, which means a single lens reflex. In essence, these are cameras that accept interchangeable lenses, which, among other reasons, makes the point much higher and shoots. * Note I do love my Canon G9, great when I travel light. Shot all Canon equipment, and I love my team. Nikon is an excellent brand as well, and do not call me mean or silly names, so we can move right past all Chevy against Ford. I always take my wedding three cameras, a Canon 5D Mark II, which makes beautiful high-files resolution, a Canon 1D Mark IIN, which is ideal for fast / low light and high-speed approach, and finally, a reliable Canon 20D that works like a camera stationary ceremony, extra camera for an assistant or as a security camera triple. I recommend that you always carry at least two high quality machines with you because you never know what will happen. If you can not pull the rest of the wedding due to equipment malfunction, which will have an amazing pair of unhappy, not to mention the Parents who paid the bill. So be smart, you can even rent cameras if necessary.
Then, to give a quick decline in other items in my bag, especially my glasses. Before going into the deep, please keep one thing in mind: if you buy a very nice camera, and then buy cheap glass (lenses), not going to get the best quality. Remember, no matter how well the body is whether what we are looking through is not right. The same is true with UV Haze filter you bought, or are buying, go to the front. Do not go for the bargain brand, and will go a long way to keep the front glass of your lens nice happy.
Here are the objectives that are usually used at a wedding: The Canon 16-35mm f2.8 wide angle lens, the Canon 50mm f1.4 and f2.8 Canon 70-700 IS telephoto. And I love shooting the Canon 85 mm f1.2 lens is a very sweet (and expensive) lens that I can rent from time to time. Let me tell you, which makes for stunning portraits and detail images. As you look at this list you may have noticed that all the objectives mentioned Canon. Remember that what makes the camera you have, the use of lenses for (kit lenses usually are not as good though) and that are designed specifically for your camera and optics will be of better quality third-party computers. If you have any questions about your particular purpose, please do not hesitate to ask. Now, to use all the lenses.
16-35mm f2.8: This is a beautiful wide-angle lens perfect for capturing wide scenes, emotional moments before the wedding and reception action. Shot in a style documentary, so this lens also allows me to layer elements in the picture, even in tight spaces.
50mm f1.4: Great portrait lens, especially when open f1.8, very nice and strong. I do not recommend going to f1.4 with him, as it is almost impossible to get something strong in the aperture (f-stop). This is also a good general purpose lens, and does well for interesting details such as flowers and decorations, while throwing the background out of focus for a magazine style look.
70-200mm f2.8: This goal is an absolute must-have for anyone who pictures, or own a camera. Seriously. I have shot everything from football to racing portraits of bride with this goal, and managing all of them easily. Moreover, in case you are interested, Canon is about to release an updated version thereof, should have some improvements. This works great lens for portraits, and can also be useful for coverage of the ceremony when you can not approach the bride and groom. There is a version f2.8 and f4 version. The 2.8 is heavier and more expensive, but lets you shoot in low light, what does that stand in my opinion. I have a Canon 1.4 x teleconverter that will put me there sometimes to get even more reach. In case you are wondering, is basically a tele- a couple of accessories to its objective lens magnifies 1.4 times. Also have a 2x, but do not function well. Using a teleconverter can be very helpful, but be that you need more light to make an image, which may disadvantage if you are somewhere very dark. This is becoming less of a problem, but now because the cameras are able to perform more and more about black-traffic areas.
85mm f1.2: I love this lens. It is very likely that the objective next purchase, which does amazing things on shoots portrait. I also love the details of shooting him, and the use of almost every time I shot the fashion editorial. Launch of the background out of focus as well, or some who say it has a nice bokeh (picture a word nerd cool). Great lens.
Stay tuned for my next part, which are the accessories that I like to always have in my bag.
