Fashion history of BBW and plus size women

BBW stands for Big Beautiful Women. " In the past, a big beautiful body was associated health and wealth. As a matter of fact, until the 1960's, BBW and plus size women were lauded for their looks beautiful. The plus-size woman appeared in almost every fashion photography, films, and paintings from the 1920's, 1950. When did all this change?

In the 1960s, more fashionable in size rapidly disappeared from the covers of magazines and on the silver screen. Many people attribute this trend to switch to the first teenage supermodel - Twiggy. Ironically, Twiggy's name suited her slim frame very well. Instead of more size blouses, plus size dresses, and skirts, Twiggy wore dresses that hugged her tight little body. In 1967, Marshall McLuhan boldly said: "Twiggy is an X-ray, not an image."

Unlike plus size BBW, presenting a picture of health and happiness, Twiggy was ill in a mere 95 pounds. Unfortunately, women all over the world became quickly dissatisfied with their bodies and fashion choices. The clothes were made for little girls with bright frames, fashionable, and affordable. More options BBW size? Well, say you were not so glamorous in the 1960s.

BBW and plus size women were ignored in the years 1970 and 1980 also. It was not until the 1990s that BBW and plus size women had enough. Women with curves and filled with figures of women were tired of trying to get an idea of perfection that is sold to all media through the median. Billboards, magazines, television programs, radio commercials and films portrayed Anna Nicole Smith, Claudia Schiffer, Cindy Crawford and Kate Moss with his "perfect" bodies in the hottest fashion designers.

Then, when the new millennium, the world saw the crash as something happened: the newspapers and reality television began to share the privacy of these models. Being thin was not as dazzling, sexy, and easy as it looked. When the cameras were not rolling and the photographers were not around, many of these problems keeping models thin. BBW and plus size women were finally able to cast a distress signal. In a fashion-conscious women more oppressed by both size and BBW time, be finally recognized BBW healthier than small-framed models. But at what cost? How many more BBW and women size developed eating disorders in their efforts to slimmer bodies? We never know.

In 2002, the world tuned in the awful reality comedy "Anna Nicole Show." Although the life of Anna Nicole definitely looked disastrous, no one can deny that he had moved from a model Guess thin in the 90 to a plus size BBW over a decade. She eventually experienced success, not just its comedy reality but as a plus size designer clothing. Unfortunately, Anna Nicole Smith died of an overdose. His untimely death and his son still is shrouded in mystery.

Many people wonder if Anna Nicole Smith was the first plus size model famous BBW. It's safe to say that this is debatable. Emme (Melissa) Aronson is recognized as the first plus sized BBW model by many high-standing members of the fashion world, and Angellika is the first plus size model which was included in the modeling of the Hall of Fame. It's all subjective, really.

However, all these women paved the way for plus size BBW all the world. Women finally have been recognized and accepted in all its forms. The beauty is no longer defined by single digit clothing sizes. BBW and sizes of most beautiful women and deserve the chance to flaunt their assets and feel comfortable in their own skin.
