Resume Mistakes - Tell the truth about his grades

You're a few credits to his MBA, and you're tempted to go ahead and list the degree of being attributed to his curriculum vitae. After all, the company is interested, says that not even one interview without an MBA, if not tell the white lie, it'll take a miracle to get your foot in the door.

Do not. Grades are easy to verify, and most companies (and certainly most recruiters) will take the time to validate their academic qualifications.

Say the company has a strict requirement for MBA. What is the point to get past the initial barrier, making it through one or two rounds of interviews, and then found out during a credential check? Not only is obtained supply, cheating can do damage on the road. Things like that have a way to keep a candidate.

My advice - tell the truth.

If you are actively completing the courses, the solution is simple. List of college and graduation date of something like this:

MBA, The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, which is conferred December 2008.

On the other hand, if you do not have the degree, that his experience making the case that the company would talk to you even though we lack a requirement. You never know which company is the prerequisite. Can be any number of variables ( example, you might have had difficulty trying to find quality candidates) to go ahead and give it a shot, without embellishment.

If you are working with a recruiter, it's your job to try to convince the hiring company to make an exception.

Of course, people slip through and be hired with false resumes, but the truth tends to come at the end - sometimes dramatically. Stories in the news regularly on senior executives profile are in trouble when the world discovers that not really the education fund said they did.

It happened again recently when one of the most powerful figures in the game industry (President and CEO of MGM Mirage) resigned as questions swirled about his credentials academic. His biography business said it had received an MBA from USC, but a fraud investigator found otherwise private. Initially, officials MGM was by her man - but the story would not die.

Apparently, this manager then tried to justify saying that completed the courses to grade, to the left to go to work, and later was awarded an honorary MBA. A USC spokesman, however, said the school has not awarded the title MBA fee since 1933 - and only five have been awarded in its history.

And so, a lie, seemingly small, unquestioned for so many years back with a vengeance.

Not prepared for this type of fall. Do yourself a favor, tell the truth.
