Money in the fashion industry: Where models have been Black?
Ever felt, why there was a relative absence of black models at the recent fashion week? It is certainly true that the beers cut throat competition between agencies models for the search for the most glamorous models of fashion, with the best of poses, head shots and beauty. However, many white models, walking down the ramp, it's definitely getting difficult for black women to mark their arrival, unlike as they did during the seventies.
So race play a role in career decision the prospects of this tempting fashion industry? Are the days of black celebrities like Naomi Campbell, Liya Kebede and Donyale Luna, at last? Unfortunately, these questions reveal some hard and bitter truths. On the one hand, black fashion clothing could have emerged as a style statement, but unfortunately on the other hand, the bustle of fashion is perhaps all undergone a complete wash of white. Long back, Ms. Mendoza became the first black woman to be crowned as Mrs. Columbia in 2002. But no other black woman could repeat history again.
More Earlier, black fashion models used to adorn the cover of more than hundreds of magazines like Harper's Bazaar, Cosmopolitan and Vogue. fashion models as Waris Dirie, a model including had Express for jeans and Chanel. Along with top model agencies, including advertising giants like Tommy Hilfiger and Abercrombie & Fitch hired these models black. Several international fashion magazines, model portfolios, advertising and catwalk models emerging prominent black man who had literally given platforms fire, with cuts, curves and figures.
But today, the universal call for models Fashion agency situations poses a challenge for black women. The number of black women elected by the glamor modeling agency has been drastically reduced. Now, even the fashionistas rejoice to see a black face in the fashion magazine. Therefore, discrimination is deliberate or not? No doubt about twelve percent world population includes persons in black, but these statistics are sufficient to deal with the selection of models in any international modeling agency? Maybe not!
Before, when fashion started in an industrial platform, which began with the sale of clothing and force of creation, script and genre for fashion hunters. But now, it has been bent to the business of selling beauty. Somehow, international designers feel that black women can not represent the stereotypical image of beauty. Unfortunately, they do not realize that their expensive suits are also used by these black beauties.

You never see enough black models out there. They bring so much more to the table and do not get the credit that they deserve. Hopefully the media straightens up one day.
