Urban Street Clothing: A Fashion History
Getting onto the street means you have to wear the best clothes you have in order to blend completely with your surroundings. This usually varies as to where you are located. You can expect that if you live in some cosmopolitan and highly urban society, then your street clothing should match as well.
Overtime, fashion trends have changed and the same happened to the street fashion. Oftentimes, the trend of the past makes it way back into the present. There are some cases wherein a trend would simply fade away, never to be relived again. This goes the same for urban street clothing. The trends that are commonly seen on the streets can be attributed to those who started the streetwear.
Before, when the hip hop beat was not yet given life by rappers such as MC Hammer, fashion was a little bit boring. You can just find everything so prim and proper, or overly done. Some groups, such as the bikers, have made their own fashion statements by using leather dominantly, and having black as some sort of their own color. Others just wear whatever they can grab from their closet. Basically, they were stuck with that fashion until some people made changes.
When these rappers came to popularity, they set their own trendy line of clothes and it became a standard for urban street clothing. These were characterized by oversized shirts, pants, while others put on accessories such as caps and some necklaces that are quite large. These necklaces come in silver and other colors which express a certainly unique appeal.
The uniqueness of urban street clothing is also depicted in an urban t shirt. These shirts are usually dark and with some unconventional designs such as skulls or gothic prints. You can always find an urban t shirt online or at clothing stores in malls. Sometimes, online stores offer great big discounts and you might get your own shirt at a really low price when you try to buy online.
Indeed, urban street clothing will always make one fashionable when on the streets. You would definitely look cool whenever you go out and sport this urban look.
