Of course, you have your beachside havens standard equipped with reflecting pools invoking peace, miserable-chic villas with a romantic mosquito net hanging around the beds and organic chocolate coffee beans covered in pillows, and you have your first level, metropolitan affairs, architecturally zeitgeisty honored structures that duplicate the lessons in the upper class and elegance, and formal hotels, institutional, never go out of style.
But for those looking for something different, something a little off the beaten path, something more adventurous and creative, there are a lot of choices.
Here's a look at some of the world's most exclusive and unusual hotel.
The Magic Mountain Hotel in Panguipulli, Chile, in the middle of the nature reserve Huilo Huilo, is a hotel in the shape of a mountain. Water nozzles on top of the mountain, cascadeing the sides creating a spectacular sight. This is definitely not your ordinary hotel. It is located amidst a beautiful forest in southern Chile, there are hot tubs made trunks of trees, perched on a wooden deck overlooking the woods, and there is a nearby golf course. Rooms from about $ 170USD per night.
In Sweden, Jukkaskjarvi visitors can stay in a hotel made of pure solid ice. Although there are several ice hotels in the world, this was the original Ice Hotel, is also the world's largest hotel made of ice and snow, covering some 5500 square meters. The hotel started as a small igloo built on the river Torne, in an art exhibit. Some visitors decided to sleep in the igloo of ice and the concept of the hotel emerged from there. Today there are several ice hotels worldwide.
The lighthouse at the port of Harlingen in the Netherlands, once served the pastor sailors and ships in the harbor, which was closed in 1998, however, an individual intrepid determined that although the lights went out, the historic structure and signal itself could go to good use. The lighthouse is now a luxurious hotel, guests can sleep in the tower, where the lighthouse once was, or left in the lifeboat, now rescues people from the daily grind, rather than the North Sea heartbreaking.
