How to get an entry level job in an art gallery, studio or museum?

I am a self taught artist and I want to work in the art industry. I have a degree in Communications, but no amount of art. I do not mind being a receptionist at an art gallery or museum, but does not seem that opportunities in the line of my city. So I thought about going the route of the old fashion and mailing resumes. Should I make the curriculum vitae of colors, instead of Manila version? If writing a letter explaining my passion for art that I have never worked in an artistic atmosphere before? My professional training is in the insurance industry and I have made a minor work, but I'm looking for a career change. I'm a little intimidated the only knowledge of the art world that I have is what I have taught in books, videos, etc. Your help in my job search is much appreciated. Thanks.

It could be all down to sending letters, e-mails and calling doors.Your experience in the insurance sector may be valuable as many graduates from arts base course.Remember that is a bachelor degree Arts degree. There many great galleries of the city as well as small independent ones.Even people who have experienced academic art courses to keep abreast after their own investigations and efforts.
