Project Runway: Meet the Designer - Christian Siriano
The final season of competition in the Bravo network reality show Project Runway introduces one of the most youngest of the contestants in the history of the show - Christian Siriano, who is 21 years. Although instead of being intimidated by their older counterparts, Siriano exudes air of confidence in himself, and said in his video for Bravo which is full of raw talent. His accent seems to be a combination of valley girl slang bold and buoyancy reminiscent of Chris Crocker. Siriano has recognized the fact that some see it as a mere novelty, but does not think this should be something that will stop him or hold him back into the competition.
He also demonstrated a degree of self-motivation and ambition, saying he decided to apply for the track project on their own, and is influenced mainly by himself and his own achievements. Some might consider this assurance and poise, while others burst of pure arrogance and ego. However, any notion that this is mere child arrogance is quickly dispelled by the assessment show mentor and industry veteran fashion Tim Gunn himself, who has described Siriano as a "fashion prodigy."
The young Siriano also already has a good amount of experience that have worked with your favorite designer Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood. Siriano was raised in the world of artistic design and creative occupations, and who previously started to exert effort in a room when he was 13 years old. Among his first efforts were designing costumes for a hair show, before starting to provide more attention in the design of clothing, while still attending high school. He departed from the United States to attend American Intercontinental University in London, and showed a collection in the 2005 Fashion Week in London.
