Movie Review - Firewall
Harrison Ford does not move as fast as Indy in the thriller "Firewall", but it shows that, at 63, he can still play the action hero. "Firewall" is not thought-provoking, is an action movie with all the old the right ingredients. speeding cars, shattering glass, intense battle sequences and fiery explosions and Ford is in the midst of all this.
Ford's Seattle banker Jack Stanfield, vice president of security, who is forced to hack into the security system built to fork over $ 100 million for children bad they are holding his family hostage. Virginia Madsen is an architect Jack's wife Beth, who holds it together and falls apart beautifully just at the right time. Mary Lynn Rajskub (Chloe on the television program "24") shines as an assistant to Jack, a key player in many of the comedic moments. The criminal mind, Bill Cox, is played by Paul Bettany, who clearly practiced his eyes beady-eyed villain of the week.
Director Richard Loncraine, who created the love match between Bettany and Kirsten Dunst in "Wimbledon", receives the rolling action of the opening credits. A few scenes show that the Stanfields have been and remain stem. When the film begins, the viewer is seeing the family through the eyes of the enemy. At times, Bill is entirely too friendly with Jack (Ford), and son Jack share moments that are too sweet. Two of Bill's cronies also show their softer side of Jack's family. You try a friendly chat Jack's wife about his work. The other, with a serious my-dog-just-died face tells the family to try to get some sleep, although it may be difficult.
Although these personality changes may reflect the inability to create characters Forte consistent, good / evil combo increases the suspense. Will one of the cronies of betraying leader Bill and save the family? Sure, the bad guy become cliché in Hollywood is good, but if it works .... Forte also should receive congratulations on a plot becomes more elaborate and captivating as the film progresses.
The obvious product placement, however, can not be ignored. Jack uses his daughter iPod to thwart the wicked. Dell products abound. During one scene, Ford shares of the camera with the Dell logo very obvious that stands out in a sea of dark equipment. Jack units of a new, shiny, gray Chrysler 300C with black leather interior. Well, the inside is just a guess, but Jack's car has almost as many scenes as Jack.
Do not go see "Firewall" waiting for an original. Expect an entertaining action movie with all the cliches of Hollywood well executed well enough, of Anyway
