WLC fashion school celebrates Quintessence 2009
After three years of hard work, skills and efforts of faculty members, so show organized by the annual graduation fashion students. The fashion extravaganza was marked by the introduction of a new group of students to the glamor of the fashion industry. The event, which feels the presence of big names in the fashion industry as Sunil Sethi, President of the FDCI, designer Rohit Bal, Ashima and Leena, Mr. Deepak Bhandari, director Modi Revlon's marketing and Mr. Anil Manan, vice president and executive creative director of McCann Ericson, in the great hall of the Grand Hotel in the capital on Saturday night.
To add the glam quotient to the event, the ramp was burned by namely Alisha models Parekh, Anchal Oberoi, Kajal Srivastava, Anoush, and Ritu Jain Ankita Kapoor. At the end night, the show featured a group of 24 design students at the school. "Quintessence, 2009, showcases the creativity and professionalism of the graduating batch School of Fashion.
This is the culmination of years of diligent work and training of our students and the enormous efforts of the faculty, " reported Vinay Pasricha, Chairman, WLCI. The collections were reviewed and critically evaluated by the most respected names in the world of fashion, fashion designer Samant Chauhan, Aseem-chief designer Tarun Tahiliani, Amarjeet-GFO chief designer Pam Mehta, chief designer and fashion consultant Kimayo Tahim Anish.
Samant said, "I been seeing the students and their work for three years and this year Ihave seen a huge difference in their designs. They have shown great improvement. Although there were collections they were good and some that were not so good, but the hard work of students is noteworthy. "The group of jurors including Deepti Baveja, director of campus national director of graphic design WLCI; Sangitika Nigam, National Director of Media WLCI, Kajal Gupta, WLCI School of Fashion and Aditi Jha, Faculty Fashion WLCI. The gala event drew to a close by the awards ceremony.
The Award for best portfolio offered to Utkarsh Gupta for the topic "Vrindavan". Showing Organic Mosaics, the Technical Excellence Award for Best grabbed Shewta Garg. Working under the theme of "perfect woman" managed to capture Diksha Rampal the jury's attention and succeeded Kingfisher Designer of five NBA stars. A concept-driven collection always manages to seduce the audience and if the subject is the buzz word "recession", then surely it will be noted and proved successful for Shekhar who had Nidhika Trophy Collection cease best concept and creative. Vanlal bags the award for best collection of commercial viability and the best prize or Craft Revival collection based on the theme of East meets West.
