When a hero comes along ..
W hen a hero comes along, this phrase is inspired by listening to a Mariah Carey classic made by X Factor competitors in the UK. The single was played during my regular weekly meeting of scholarships to remember the hundreds of thousands of soldiers who had given their lives for many in the past and present wars.
Today I hope you never stop being immune to many factors, many cases, times, occasions and opportunities that allow the stories of inspiration to change the course of history. The election of Barack Obama as the first President of the United States and leader of "world free "is one of them and of course the year the Armed Forces Remembrance Day in the UK which I think is another of those cases.
"I can suggest that amid the global dark despair, and disasters, including in most circumstances is the genius endowed with the human spirit, the desire to end can shine through and there is the ability of our creator has given us constant inspiration to each other through small individual acts of notable events and personal sacrifice and courage.
However, there in our own Nigeria, which strikes me as very ironic that while the United Kingdom is to remember your brand own unique heroes and selfless acts of bravery by its military in various theaters of war, past and present, Nigeria is facing a very different story. We are instead developing against the brutality of some men in uniform seem to be the naval military vocation. If video recording circulating on the Internet and reports are believed then instead of acts of heroism of our men, some of our military brutality have made to the agenda. A lady harmless and defenseless full sunlight is beaten and robbed of all dignity under the flimsy excuse of a minor traffic violation and refusal to obey an order to meet the Admiral.
While our government strives through its "secret" agents detain an unsuspecting Internet journalist and questioning their right to freedom expression of some of the military appear to be in commotion trampling as "dear", "rule of law."
But curiously, This story is very familiar to me and many others. When I was 6 years old, returning from school with my brothers, driven by my mother in her Volkswagen Beetle, under the guise of a minor traffic violation who were approached by some soldiers, my uncle, the late Professor Biodun deceased 'came out of his car Adetugbo to protect and defend us, by his act of courage and kindness that he was tortured and beaten senseless by a dozen soldiers, under the leadership of their principals. My uncle brave stood with them and prevented them from escaping. True to the military type fashion in the description of Fela behaved like zombies without any control.
Today, however, I'm glad to hear the responses of the Governor Raji Fashola, SAN, and the late response but required the Federal Government to address and investigate the conduct such assumptions and barbaric actions. A Miss Uzoma Okere a victim of alleged brutality I can only offer words to the effect that, as the hero who comes stand and explain the nature and power of militant vavolence is in the heart of our armed forces, which are in my opinion, worthy of the song lyrics I get the following:
