Hanae Mori - a leader in Japanese fashion design
We all know how the works of great artists can inspire artists and aspiring to work as well. This is evident in the case of Hanae Mori. When he was 34 years, Mori met Coco Chanel by accident during a test, despite the fact that Mori had indeed been studying fashion in his native Japan, and maintained the position of costume designer since 1951, was her encounter with Coco Chanel that truly inspired. Few years after, Mori made her debut at the track with Neiman Marcus in tow.
A decade later, Mori moved to Paris, where he showed his haute couture collection. It was not long for her to open his own couture house in 1977. Since then it has become the only designer Asia to become part of the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture in Paris. This is a major achievement for any designer because it is the governing body of the fashion industry the whole of France.
But it is his transition from Japan to come to Paris was not easy at all. She was studying at the University of Christian Women Tokyo with literature as his major when WWII broke out. When war and its effects diminished, Mori returned to school, but was unable to get a degree, because he married soon. Her husband's family operated a textile manufacturing business. As a young girl with a lot of time on their hands and exposure to different textiles and fabrics, Mori soon developed an interest in fashion design. In 1951, he launched his company in the costume design and designed over 700 costumes for many Japanese directors. But it was Coco Chanel, who gave the significant unit to venture into high fashion and things have never been the same for her since.
Their most popular items include silk muslin gown which was produced in 1981 and evening wear that comes with the trademark symbol of the butterfly. Are known to have the uncanny ability to use natural beauty of the fabric to redefine the shape of the woman with the cloth itself.
Mori also expanded into fragrances, with their first known as Hanae Mori fragrance launched in 1995. Monitoring for the scent include Homme and Hanae Mori Hanae Mori Haute Couture. We expect to see many new designs and this remarkable designer fragrances.
