Located 300 miles south of Great Bear Lake, Great Slave Lake is almost as large a body of water, almost isolated, but has the convenience of a bustling border city type, located on its shores. Yellowknife, the capital of the territory is also the "center" of many remote lakes of northern and fishing lodges, and is served by a modern airport with regular flights and frequent daily connections to most cities in southern, northern or as they call it, "the exterior "
