When looking at popular attractions in Hampton, there are two that are always above the rest. Located in an 1845 mansion built by Benjamin Huntting, a tycoon game whale-boat, the Museum of Whaling in Sag Puerto pays tribute to the industry that this region on the map. With samples of whale oil, whale jaws centenarians and tools and weapons of the whalers, the museum is a must on any trip Hamptons. Montauk Point Lighthouse, completed in 1796, was the first lighthouse to be built in New York and is home to numerous artifacts and historic documents. The best part of any visit, however, is the climb to the tower 110 feet in a breathtaking panoramic view the ocean, coastline and stunning scenery.
