Of the 1880 women's wear swimming was introduced, consisting a blouse and trousers in one piece. There was also a separate skirt century marked a bold new era in swimwear for women. After the suits Bath started the trend of being more transparent and shorter. This was followed by a bikini or swimsuit in two parts consisting of women characteristics of boxiness and strength in contrast to the exaggerated curves of the women wear.
Although the men began to look more sexy, there was still some controversy costumes of the women increasingly daring and extravagant for 1950 and beyond, the male swimsuit saw an explosion of color patterns and designs fantasy.
