i'm avoiding my office. i dislike my surrounding and i am self employed...?
i am a sales agent and have been for 9 years. there is a new guy in my office that is REALLY YOUNG, rude, loud, obnoxious... he USE to be a used car salesman. he wears a WOOL trench coat when it's 80 degrees... i dislike him SO MUCH that i can't stand to be in the same room with him BUT, every sales agent is packed in one room. i can work from home and have for over a month now. here's the problem. my boss sent me an e-mail to "remind" me about our office meeting at 1pm today. I CAN'T BE in the same room with this awful person for 1 hour! HAS ANYONE OUT THERE worked with someone like this (of course)? HOW DID YOU HANDLE IT? (i don't need the job... but i don't want to let down my current clients).
I can understand this feeling......but perhaps for one hour you could suck it up and concentrate solely on your meeting and on the other people in the room? Sit between two other people who can distract you? If you dont' HAVE to go into the office for regular work hours, then while working from home maybe you could be looking for another job at a relaxed pace. I hate one of my co-workers, but I tolerate and deal with that person gracefully knowing that I'm better and more respected by showing that I REFUSE to let them ruffle my feathers. Never let 'em see you sweat. Then THEY win.
